Sinclair Hwang
Sinclair Hwang

Working with high net-worth individuals with complex estate planning needs, Mr. Hwang employs a full range of estate planning techniques, from straightforward wills to complex trust agreements, to meet their wealth transfer objectives. He is experienced not only in implementing sophisticated planning strategies (including intergenerational dynasty trusts, family business succession entities and split-interest residence and grantor-retained annuity trusts), but also in transfer tax advocacy before the IRS Estate and Gift Tax Division. His experience beyond the traditional estate planning arena, particularly his background in corporate and securities law, provides him with additional insight into the creation of family business entities and the succession planning issues confronting his clients.

Before joining Carr McClellan, Mr. Hwang worked in the Menlo Park office of Perkins Coie, LLP where he counseled clients on a variety of general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, 1934 Securities Act filings, corporate formation, and venture capital financings, and negotiated and drafted acquisition and financing documents, licensing agreements and 10-K, 10-Q and proxy statement materials. After receiving his undergraduate degree in public policy, Mr. Hwang worked at the Association to Benefit Children in New York, serving as the organization’s Director of Volunteer Programs.
